Module 01
Weave Integrations Academy
Weave Platform & Integration Types
How Weave Features Map to Integration Depth
Module Overview
Before writing a single line of integration code, you need to understand what Weave actually delivers to its customers — and why the depth of a PMS integration determines which features an office can unlock. This module walks through Weave's integration type taxonomy (Type 1 through Type 4) and shows you the real UI impact of each level, including the Forms feature that enables bidirectional data flow.
Why This Module Matters
Every integration ticket you pick up will reference a 'Type 2' or 'Type 4' integration. Understanding what that means in terms of features, data requirements, and write-back capabilities is fundamental to knowing what you're building and why it matters to the office.
Learning Goals
- Understand Weave's integration type hierarchy (Type 1 through Type 4)
- Identify which features each integration type unlocks for office customers
- Explain the role of the Integrations team in enabling each feature
- Describe the Forms feature and how it creates or updates patient records in the PMS
- Distinguish between read (pull) and write-back integration capabilities
